Take a close look at the statistics:
 
  • 960,000-4,000,000 incidents of crime reported each year were those against a current or former spouse, boyfriend, or girlfriend.

  • Women are 5 to 8 times more likely to be victims of an abusive relationship than men are.

  • 31,260 women were murdered by their partner from the time span of 1976-1996.

  • 39% of hospital emergency department visits were females who had violent-related injuries. 84% of those women had injuries inflicted by their partner.
